Learning Assistant is dedicated to transforming the way vocational qualifications are delivered. Our focus is on solving the problems that have always held back traditional learning methods. Now, thanks to Learning Assistant, learners and training departments are able to participate in a blended learning environment which greatly improving the quality of experience for all. But don't just take our word for it:
Learning Assistant has decreased the time taken to complete a portfolio considerably. For example, a level 2 paper-based NVQ used to take 18 months, but with Learning Assistant, two candidates completed their award in 4 months, with others finishing in 5-6 months.
Michell O'Driscoll, Lead Internal Verifier at Birmingham City Council
Learning Assistant is a fantastic on-line system, which fits well with National's culture of a paperless office. The fact that you can access the system any time day or night is great as we have a 24-hour continuous manufacturing operation. It's also great from a Managers perspective, as you can monitor progress at the touch of a button. As a previous National Training Award winner for the second time in three years, I see this as a great example of best practice within the modern world.
Grace Mitchell, HR Manager -National Semiconductor
Our Management, Administration and Customer Service candidates are enthusiastic about using the system and have been extremely active since their induction. They regularly have positive comments regarding the system, which have been echoed by many, as Learning Assistant is now recognised as our preferred method of recording progress and achievement. We now offer this method of online assessment to all our funded and commercial candidates as their first option for portfolio building.
George Brand, Vocational Training Co-ordinator - Aberdeen Grampian Chamber of Commerce
Our Candidates find Learning Assistant very easy to use and far more convenient than the traditional paper based method. The software gives our learners the flexibility to submit coursework in the classroom, at the office or from home and allows them to keep up to date with their Assessor at all times. I am pleased to report that since using Learning Assistant we have seen greater participation from our candidates, who enjoy being able to complete their course at a time that is more convenient to their busy schedules.
Margaret Sneddon, Programme Co-ordinator - Bell Innovations
Learning Assistant is just fantastic! I wish we had discovered it ages ago; it has transformed the way we deliver our awards. We have experienced a considerable increase in the use of our Learning Centre since the introduction of Learning Assistant. By allowing access 24/7 many of my staff either worked during quieter work times or often in their own time at home. I was also delighted to notice an unexpected benefit of increased IT literacy in the participants, as the system is so easy to use - it must be as we can all work it!
Rosemary Elliot, Managing Director - Cairellot Training Centre
We were not sure about using E Portfolios, but after a session with Learning Assistant we felt that this had to be the way forward. Our main consideration was our candidates and how they would react to the new processes. We need not have worried; they all love the system, its easy access and ongoing support from their assessors, which they can see at a glance. It gives them more flexibility to carry out their work and this is turn is reflected in greater participation.
The system has now been viewed by 3 different external verifiers all of whom were enthusiastic and looking to have quick return visits so they could learn more. The team at Learning Assistant have been excellent. The training in the system is concise and the guides easy to follow. This is our way forward.
