The joy of Learning Assistant is that verification can be immediate. No longer do we have to wait for mutually convenient meeting times between candidate, assessor and IV. The IV can talk to both EV and Assessor on the secure line. The EV can monitor the verification process, as well as tracking the assessment of the candidate. Quality of verification is much easier to demonstrate, as on-going support is visible for both candidates and assessors.

One of our candidates found the system particularly flexible, motivating her to move through the award quickly and very successfully. This was even though she lives and works in Suffolk, and we're based in the Scottish Borders!
Easy to use?
Being based in a fairly rural area, it had been difficult to support all of our clients. Learning Assistant has changed this for us we now have candidates all over the UK and are always in touch with them. It's so much easier to keep an eye on candidate progress, to maintain candidate motivation, and ensure we keep our records up-to-date. Our External Verifiers are now keen to spread the word. Local clients and senior managers who had previously shunned NVQ e-portfolios are suddenly openly supportive.
How will you take things forward?
Not being highly computer literate, the Learning Assistant team have been there to answer all our queries. Harris Management Training now persuade all new candidates to register online.
