Learning Assistant launch new Portal
At Learning Assistant, we understand our e-portfolio must meet the needs of a wide range of users. Whether you’re a Learner, an Assessor or a System Administrator we aim to make our solution as powerful and easy to use as possible. But we can’t do this by ourselves, we need your help. That’s why we’ve built the new Learning Assistant Portal.
Designed to be your single repository for all information and knowledge about the system, The Portal’s unique blend of collaborative tools will allow you to share ideas and best practice with other users, while also taking a direct role in suggesting how we should develop the Learning Assistant product.
Here’s an example of some of the tools available:
The Knowledge Base & Support
All system help has now been migrated to a new section of the Portal called the Knowledge Base. This facility allows you to access all help content through a new searchable interface - finding answers to your system questions is now easier and faster. But if you can’t find what you’re looking for in the Knowledge Base, The Portal provides you with an easy way to get in touch with our Customer Support team so you can ask a question directly.
FAQs
You might find that many of the questions you have about Learning Assistant might have already answered for someone else. Browsing our Frequently Asked Questions can not only provide the answers you’re looking for but can also give you an insight into other areas Learning Assistant. And if you don’t find the answer you’re looking for, just ask your question via the feedback form and we’ll get back to you right away – we can then share your contribution with your peers, making the FAQs even better.
Forums
The new Forums allow you to participate in a powerful online community. By communicating directly with other Learning Assistant users, you can discuss any issues you are having with the delivery of your qualifications, as well as collaborate directly with other Providers in order to explore best-practice and new ways of working.
Feedback
At Learning Assistant, we need to ensure our solution continues to be the easiest to use e-portfolio on the market. That’s why your feedback is so important to us; we want to hear about your experiences of using the system so that we can continue to meet all your changing requirements. The new easy to use Feedback tools will allow you to shape the future of our product.
Training & Demonstration Movies
The new Portal also incorporates a broad selection of informative movies. These instructional films had previously only been available to the Learning Assistant team for training and demonstration of the system. We’re sure you’ll find these new movies ideal for informal training of new staff – or as refresher training for existing members of your team.

Check out the new Message Centre
It's key that we listen to our clients, and continue to provide the market leading online NVQ e-portfolio & assessment system!
A number of Centres have requested that we make it easier for candidates to get in touch with Assessors, and vice versa. So, we've developed a simple tool that can do just that.
Learning Assistant's new Message Centre, allows informal and private communication between the Candidate and their Assessor.
Easy to use!
All the user has to do is navigate to their Message Centre, type in the message and choose who to send the message to. Candidates are able to send messages to their Assessor, whilst Assessors will be able to send messages to all their Candidates. Additional features include the ability for users to have their own photograph or icon, identifying themselves. Users are able to manage their messages using the archive and delete function. Candidates' comments can be automatically copied into the Contact Diary, the formal audit trail of the e-portfolio.
As with all new features in Learning Assistant, each centre will find their own way of making this tool work for them. The Message Centre will remove the need for candidates to post comments in the Contact Diary, as some presently have the ability to.
Do you need the Message Centre?
It can be switched on or off, meaning there is no obligation to use this tool if you don't see a need for it.

In September Learning Assistant's easy road show started its journey in Glasgow, from there we travelled to Carlisle, Scotch Corner, Sheffield and London.
We have had visitors from lots of different training providers offering a varied selection of courses and levels, all agreeing that the main benefit of our system is it's ease of use and that "all sizes fit".
If you would like an invite when we come to your area please e mail enquiries@learniningassistant.com.
